Distincția a fost conferită „în semn de profundă gratitudine pentru contribuția sa deosebită la dezvoltarea relațiilor moldo-lituaniene și pentru susținerea constantă a eforturilor de integrare europeană ale Republicii Moldova”.

„De calitatea justiției depinde starea economică a țării și bunăstarea oamenilor, investițiile străine și sprijinul din partea partenerilor internaționali”.
Președintele Republicii Moldova, Nicolae Timofti, a semnat un decret privind eliberarea domnului Ion Guțu din funcția de judecător de instrucție la Judecătoria Fălești, conform cererii de demisie.
Șeful statului a dat asigurări că autoritățile de la Chișinău rămân angajate pe calea reformelor pro-europene și a subliniat în context importanța reformelor în justiție și combaterii corupției.
Domnul Mihail Antonov, domnul Grigore Druguș și doamna Aurelia Parpalac au fost eliberați din funcţia de judecător la Curtea de Apel Bender. Domnul Sergiu Balaban a fost eliberat din funcţia de judecător la Judecătoria Hâncești în legătură cu pronunțarea unei hotărâri definitive de condamnare.
