During the consultations held by Timofti and parliamentary factions, the Liberal Democratic Party proposed Iurie Leanca as candidate for the post of prime minister.
Timofti appreciated the contribution of the second president of Moldova, Petru Lucinschi, to strengthening the democratic institutions and establishment of harmony in the society.

President Nicolae Timofti has signed the appointment decrees for eight magistrates today, at the proposal of the Superior Council of Magistracy.
President Nicolae Timofti signed a decree on the release of Nicolae Nogai from the office of judge of the Bender-based Court of Appeal, at a proposal by the Superior Council of Magistracy, given the delivery of the final judgement of conviction. The Balti-based Court of Appeal issued a decision ,according to which Nicolae Nogai was found guilty of knowingly delivering a judgment contrary to the law, resulting in serious consequences, an offense provided for in the article 307 paragraph (2) letter c) of the Criminal Code of Moldova.
President Klaus Iohannis expressed hope that the Moldovan parliament would vote a representative government with a strong European agenda as soon as possible.
