In these difficult moments, I my own behalf and on behalf of Moldova’s people, I want to address the sincerest condolences to you, the mourning families, as well as to the entire Turkish nation. Also, I wish the injured quick recovery.
It is a holiday for all Romanians, including for those from the left bank of Prut river. On 1 December 1918, Bessarabia was already part of Romania by historical vote of Country Council of 27 March 1918, which represents to us great pride.
President Nicolae Timofti today conveyed a public message on the socio-political situation in the country.
„I would like to express my belief that in the nearest future the Parliament will give a vote of confidence to a new Government that will continue the policies of Moldova’s Europeanization which is, according to my deep conviction, the only way towards our country’s prosperity”.
„At the turn of the year, I convey you a good thought of health and good humour. I wish you welfare and happiness to your families. God protects us. Happy New Year!”
„It is important that we all understand one simple, but fundamental thing: our, our children and grandchildren's future depends on that the way we vote on 30 November. Now our fate is being decided. Throughout Moldova’s history we had 3 opportunities to make the decisive step towards Europe, an land of freedom, prosperity and security”.
„I note with satisfaction that in our country, constitutional democracy has proved viability. Presently, there is a national consensus on supremacy of the constitution, which demonstrates the maturity of political establishment, as well as evolution of civic consciousness”.
