The President of Moldova Igor Dodon held a meeting with a Vatican delegation, headed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, His Eminence, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
The head of state thanked the guests for attending the World Congress of Families, mentioning the community of values we share, especially the family ones.
In this context, Igor Dodon informed the Vatican Secretary of State about his decision to declare 2019 - the Year of the Family in the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the President stressed that this initiative was supported by the majority of our country's population.
The head of state expressed gratitude to the Pope Francis for hospitality during the presidential visit to Vatican in November 2017.
President Igor Dodon expressed gratitude to the Holy See because he was receptive to the request of the Moldavian side and offered to our believers, who live in Italy, the opportunity to organize their religious ceremonies in the churches of this country.
