The Head of State, at the meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen: "The future of Moldova is in the European Union"

On the eve of the summit of the European Political Community, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The Head of State mentioned that tomorrow is an important day for Moldova and for our country's friends and partners.

"Today our country has taken another step towards building a European Moldova at home by signing a new agreement that provides for a reduction in roaming tariffs starting from January 1, 2024. Moldovan citizens will be able to be closer to their loved ones and communicate cheaper and more often. The connection between Moldova and the European Union is becoming increasingly close and brings tangible benefits to the people," said the head of state.

President Maia Sandu added: "The European Commission will continue to help us to overcome the difficulties, but also to develop our renewable energy sector, for which we are deeply grateful. This is what partnership with the European Union is all about - improving life for our citizens. Thank you, dear partners, for trusting Moldova. Moldova's future is in the European Union".
