The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu discussed yesterday evening, during a phone call, with the Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres, the challenges our country faces in the context of security developments in the region.
Secretary-General Guterres expressed his solidarity and appreciation for the authorities' efforts in managing the high influx of refugees from Ukraine. The Head of State thanked for the humanitarian aid provided by the UN for the refugees hosted by the Republic of Moldova. President Sandu also mentioned the need for additional assistance from the international community to support our country in the current situation.
Secretary-General Guterres has assured that the United Nations will provide additional assistance to the Republic of Moldova to ease the pressure under which the state currently operates.
