The Head of State discussed with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood

The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu had a telephone conversation with Oliver Varhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement. Officials spoke about the security situation in the region and the impact the war in Ukraine has on our country. They also discussed the measures taken by the Moldovan authorities to manage the flow of refugees, but also about the ways the European Union can help us.

The Head of State thanked Oliver Varhelyi for the European support given to our country. At the same time, the President called for additional assistance to cover the immediate needs of Moldova generated by the continuing security crisis and help strengthen its economic resilience.
