The President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, had a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in our country, E.S. Gürol Sökmensüer.
Officials discussed several topics on bilateral relations, specifically reports on the commercial-economic relations. As well, parties stated the rising dynamics of cooperation between our countries and reiterated the fact that the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Turkey signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement.
The Head of State thanked the Turkish side for its assistance to the Republic of Moldova in the humanitarian, social, cultural and other areas, in particular, in Autonomy of Gagauzia.
As well President informed the Turkish Ambassador about last political events in our country. Igor Dodon stressed that the parliamentary majority and the Government of the Republic of Moldova together with the President of the country promotes an internal and external policy based on the national consensus, with the exclusion of ideological and geopolitical factors, which will allow us to build partnerships with more countries.
At the end of the meeting, the officials spoke about possible visit of the President of the Republic of Moldova to Turkey this year’s fall. We remind that President of the Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has made an official visit to our country in October 2018.
