The President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, held a press conference, during which he made the summary of his official visit to the Russian Federation, which took place on October 31st and November 1th, and where important decisions were taken on several subjects of major interest, especially in the economic, social and humanitarian field.
At the press conference, Igor Dodon specified the following decisions:
1. Cancelation, starting January 1, 2019, of customs duties for the export of several Moldovan products to the Russian market: vegetables, fruits (apples, cherries, plums, nectarines, etc.), canned fruit and vegetables and wine products.
2. Launch, starting January 1, 2019, of a new amnesty for Moldovans working in the Russian Federation who have violated, for various reasons, Articles 26 and 27 of the FR migration legislation.
3. The increasing of the number of scholarships for Moldovans wishing to study at higher education institutions in the FR and declaration by common accord of 2019 - Year of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation, and 2020 - Year of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova.
4. Attracting Russian investments in the implementation of infrastructure projects for the benefit of the inhabitants of both banks of the Dniester.
