During the visit to St. Petersburg, the Head of State held a meeting with the leaders of the Moldovan diaspora from all regions of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the sides discussed numerous problems faced by our compatriots and the leaders of the diaspora. In particular, Igor Dodon noted the importance of registering public organizations for more active interaction of the Moldovan institutions and departments with the diaspora.
“We also talked about the need to open more polling stations in the territory of the Russian Federation. Based on the number of the Moldovan citizens in the Russian Federation, as well as the number of ballots, it is necessary to open at least 150 polling stations. In addition, I spoke about the initiative I put forward last year on the transition to a mixed electoral system, which provides for deputy seats for the diaspora," the President told on his social network page on the results of the meeting.
