Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
President Nicolae Timofti welcomes the ratification of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement by the European Parliament.
On this occasion, Timofti congratulates the citizens, who proved unity in supporting Moldova's European integration.
The president appreciates the MEPs' vote as a recognition of the achievements registered by Moldova on democratic reforms and, at the same time, it represents an important step in strengthening the political and economic integration between Moldova and EU.
Timofti believes that the resolution passed by the European Parliament saying that the signing and ratification of the Association Agreement "do not represent a final goal of the Moldova-EU relation", sets good conditions for further request of the status of candidate country for EU accession.
