Moldovan president signs decrees appointing four magistrates

President Nicolae Timofti today signed decrees appointing four magistrates, following a proposal by the Superior Council of Magistrates.

According to the presidential press service, the following judges were appointed:

Ludmila Ursu – judge at the Riscani-based court, Chisinau municipality

Luiza Gafton – head of the Botanica-based court, Chisinau municipality

Angela Braga – judge at the Botanica-based court, Chisinau municipality

Radu Turcanu- deputy head of the Botanica-based court, Chisinau municipality.

Timofti had discussions with each magistrate, highlighting the importance of re-establishing the citizens’ trust in the administration of justice.

“On the period of the justice system reformation, only magistrates proving impeccable moral and outstanding professional qualities will be confirmed in office or promoted,” Timofti stressed.
