Moldovan president signs decree declaring 3 June as mourning day

President Nicolae Timofti signed a decree declaring 3 June as a mourning day in connection with the SMURD helicopter crash in Haragis village, Cantemir district, resulting in loss of human lives.

Thus, today, 3 June 2016, the state flags will be hoisted at half-mast in all Moldovan settlements, as well as in Moldovan diplomatic and consular missions from abroad.

At 12:00, the memory of the plane crash victims will be honored by keeping a minute of silence.

Also, the public authorities, enterprises and organizations are recommended to give up carrying out mass entertainment actions and the media institutions to take into account the specifics of the day when editing publications and forming programmes on this day.
