Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
President Nicolae Timofti today met Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Hans-Gert Poettering.
Timofti appreciated the activity of the German foundation in Moldova, focused on political education and consulting. He said the training activities for local officials in the political and administrative sphere contribute to strengthening the democratic institutions from Moldova.
The two officials discussed the political processes from Moldova and exchanged opinions about the regional situation.
Hans-Gert Poettering, who served as President of the European Parliament in 2007-2009, said that Moldova had open path to the EU. He pointed out the importance of democratic reforms in Moldova.
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation started to operate in Moldova in 2007.
