Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met this evening with Helga Schmid, Secretary General of the OSCE, who is on a working visit to Chisinau. During the meeting, they discussed the security situation in the region and its impact on the Republic of Moldova.
Helga Schmid thanked the Moldovan authorities for their support during the evacuation of the OSCE civilian monitoring mission from Ukraine last week. About 300 people arrived in a convoy of 80 cars in Chisinau, from where they were later repatriated to their countries of origin. Likewise, the OSCE official expressed her deep appreciation for the humanitarian action carried out by the Republic of Moldova to help the refugees from Ukraine.
