The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met today with representatives of several political groups in the European Parliament: the Group of the European People's Party, the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance and the Renew Europe Group.
During the meetings, the officials exchanged views on the security situation in the region in the context of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine and discussed the reform agenda of our country. The Head of State also presented to the European deputies, the vision of the government team on the European course of the Republic of Moldova. "I thanked the MEPs for the European Parliament resolution of 5 May 2022, which recommended granting candidate status for accession to our country. With the support of the EU Member States, the Republic of Moldova will implement the reforms faster and will be able to become a pole of stability in the region," President Maia Sandu said.
