President Maia Sandu met with Foreign Ministers of the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia

The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu discussed the security situation in the region and the cooperation in the field of European integration with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavský, the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, Ivan Korčok.

President Maia Sandu appreciated the support provided by the European Union and directly by EU countries in managing the large flow of refugees who have been entering our country from Ukraine since February 24. The Head of State noted that 50% of the nearly 100 thousand refugees currently on the territory of Moldova are children. She also talked about how our country can overcome its economic and social challenges caused by the war. One solution is greater access to the EU market for exports that previously went to the East.

The three Foreign Ministers praised Moldova's determination to tackle the current regional crisis, which has been exacerbated by the economic and energy related challenges. They also expressed interest in new opportunities for cooperation between our countries. Areas of common interest include renewable energy, combating disinformation and supporting infrastructure projects for local communities.
