At the end of her visit to Paris, President Maia Sandu met with Remy Rioux, General Director of the French Development Agency. The discussion focused in particular on the projects that this institution will implement in the Republic of Moldova starting this year.
"The Agency will provide budgetary support for our country and will finance development projects in important areas, such as: energy, water supply, sanitation, irrigation and afforestation. We also talked about financing the modernisation of the Chisinau-Ungheni railway section, which will allow connecting Moldova's railway network to the European network", President Maia Sandu said during the meeting.
According to the head of state, the French Republic is an important partner of the Republic of Moldova, due to the link between our countries, built through our belonging to the Francophonie area and the increasingly strong economic and cultural relations and people-to-people contacts. "The development projects that the French Republic will implement in the Republic of Moldova through the French Development Agency will further strengthen this friendship and contribute to improving the lives of our citizens," President Maia Sandu said.
