The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met today with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Moldova, Simon Springett. The discussion took place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Moldova's membership of the United Nations on 2 March 1992.
The Head of State thanked for the good cooperation and support given to our country over the years by UN agencies in various fields. And in the context of the latest developments in the region, President Maia Sandu mentioned the first batch of humanitarian aid for refugees from Ukraine provided by the UN, which arrived in our country today.
Officials called for strengthening joint efforts to overcome the crisis caused by the security situation in the region. The UN Resident Coordinator gave assurances that Moldova will continue to receive all necessary support in this regard.
