The head of state discussed today with Portugal's Secretary of State for European Affairs, Tiago Antunes, the bilateral relations of the Republic of Moldova with Portugal and the deepening of cooperation in areas of common interest, such as renewable energy, information technologies and the economy.
President Maia Sandu thanked the Portuguese authorities for their support in obtaining the status of the candidate country to the EU and said that we are counting on Portugal's support in the opening of negotiations for accession to the European Union. The future of the Republic of Moldova is in the family of European states.
