President Nicolae Timofti is on a visit to Kiev today, 27 July, current year, at the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych.
In the morning, President Timofti attended a religious ceremony dedicated to the 1025th anniversary of the Kievan Rus' Christianization.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić also attended the service.
Subsequently, Viktor Yanukovych welcomed Nicolae Timofti at his presidential residence. The two heads of state discussed aspects of the Moldovan-Ukrainian bilateral relations, stressing that they will further maintain a good-neighbor spirit between Moldova and Ukraine.
The officials agreed on completing the demarcation of the state border between the two countries. They also touched upon the Moldovan properties in Ukraine, as well as issues related to energy and ecology sectors.
During his stay in Ukraine, President Nicolae Timofti visited several places of worship, among which the Goloseevo Monastery from Kiev, founded by the Metropolitan Petru Movila, in the 17th century.
