The need for urgent support to help refugees in Ukraine, discussed by President Maia Sandu with the Prime Ministers of Denmark and Belgium

Today, the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen and with the Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander De Croo. Officials spoke about current developments in the region, the impact of the war in Ukraine on the lives of our citizens and how the European Union can help Moldova in the current situation.

During the discussion, the Head of State mentioned the efforts of the authorities in managing the significant number of refugees from Ukraine, but also the need for urgent support from the European partners.

Officials agreed that there is a need to immediately identify viable common solutions that will reduce the pressure on the economy of our country and society as a whole.
