Gercheva announced the projects on strengthening institutional capacities as a priority for the next period, streamlined to the economic and social development of the country, as well as environmental protection.
According to the decree, President, Supreme Commander of Armed Forces Nicolae Timofti is the head of the Council. Advisor to President in defence and national security issues Alexei Barbaneagra is appointed as Secretary of the council.
President Nicolae Timofti led his Romanian counterpart to the Chisinau International Airport, where the two heads of state had the last meeting on subjects of common interest.

The sides highlighted the need to foster, within the organisation, projects on developing the transport infrastructure and in the energy sector. This will allow connecting with pan-European and Eurasian networks, as well as diversifying the energy sources.
Timofti, together with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and European officials, marched in the centre of Kiev city to Maidan, where a Te Deum was officiated in the memory of victims of 2014 tragic events.
