The head of state stressed out the importance to reform the judicial system and criticized the attitude of the higher law courts which had not sanctioned the magistrates accused of legislation violation.
The head of state stressed the importance of the Moldova-Germany relation from the perspective of the European integration policy promoted by the Moldovan authorities.
The official said the World Bank’s partnership offered to the Republic of Moldova would allow improving the living standards of the citizens.
President Basescu expressed Romania’s willingness to substantially increase the imports of wines and other types of farming products from Moldova, following a recent decision by Russia to block the Moldovan wines’ import.
Asked by journalists to comment on the embargo imposed by the Russian authorities on the wine produced in Moldova, the president said: “The Russian side’s actions represent an unfriendly, non-Christian, disloyal act”.
