The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu signed a decree declaring April 4, 2022, a day of mourning in the entire country. The mourning is established to commemorate all the victims of the war launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine on February 24 and as a symbol of profound compassion and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
According to the presidential decree, today the State Flag will be lowered to half-mast in the entire country and in the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad. At 12.00 p.m. a moment of silence will be held to commemorate the victims of the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, public authorities, enterprises and organizations are recommended to refrain today from mass entertainment and media institutions to take into account the specificity of this day when drafting their publications and deciding over their programs.
