President Igor Dodon today had a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who came to Chisinau last night, the presidential press service has reported.
During the meeting, Dmitri Rogozin conveyed congratulations on behalf of the Russian leadership on the swearing in office of the Moldovan president and handed over an invitation to pay an official visit to Russia.
The sides exchanged opinions on the present state of the Moldovan-Russian relations, prospects for an eventual progress in the Transnistrian issue, settlement of the main problems of the Moldovan-Russian cooperation, agenda of a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I was pleased to accept the invitation and voiced hope for a full re-launch of the Moldovan-Russian ties,” Igor Dodon said.
The meeting with Vladimir Putin is scheduled for 17 January 2017.
