Today, the head of state had a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, on the sidelines of the Council of Europe Summit in Reykjavik, Iceland.
"I had a very good dialogue with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, this morning in Reykjavik, where the fourth summit of the Council of Europe is taking place. I appreciated the increasingly close ties with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, especially with the opening of the embassy in Chisinau last month," she said.
The Moldovan President also said that "the support we receive to build a strong state that works for its citizens and to speed up the EU accession process is very valuable." President Maia Sandu thanked Prime Minister Rutte for his country's openness towards us and underlined that the Republic of Moldova is counting on intensifying economic cooperation and attracting new investments from the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
