The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met on Wednesday evening with Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission. Officials discussed the European Union's assistance programs in Moldova, including those for mitigating the consequences of the war in Ukraine, as well as the EU support for the post-pandemic recovery of our economy and the need to support its humanitarian efforts.
The head of state expressed her appreciation for the consistent help of the European Union for the democratic transformation of the Republic of Moldova and its support in the process of state consolidation. "Providing an European perspective to our country would allow us to move faster on this path, with the support of our partners in Brussels," President Sandu said at the meeting.
