Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
Excellency,
On the occasion of the commemoration of the coup attempt in 2016, on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and my own, I pay a pious tribute to the heroes who sacrificed themselves to defend the constitutional institutions of the Republic of Turkey.
Let me happily note that the Republic of Turkey has successfully reduced the negative impact of the chaos created by that sad event, with Democracy and National Unity Day becoming a symbol of the struggle to preserve national dignity, freedom and democracy. At the same time, I firmly reiterate that the Republic of Moldova vehemently condemns any act directed against the rule of law and that it remains a determined and committed partner, together with the Republic of Turkey, in ensuring national security and maintaining peace.
In this context, I want to emphasize the importance of increasing mutual support on issues related to the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and development interests of our countries and I express my confidence that, despite any and complex challenges, our peoples face a safe and bright future.
I sincerely wish you all the best, strength, and great success in your responsible activities, and for the Turkish people – well-being and prosperity. Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
