President Maia Sandu is currently in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, where she is participating in the European Political Community Summit, hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
On Wednesday evening, in London, the head of state met with Moldovan citizens living in the United Kingdom. "I listened carefully and spoke to them about how we are investing in health and education, planting tens of hectares of forests to reduce the impact of climate change, building power lines, and taking firm steps toward EU membership," said the President.
The head of state appreciated the fact that Moldovans in the diaspora are launching initiatives for children with special needs and carrying out projects that bring citizens in the diaspora closer to the country and to each other. "The core of our discussions was our shared desire to bring the diaspora back home and our determination to build together a modern country where everyone has the chance to fully realize their potential."
