The President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon had a meeting with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Mr. Claus Neukirch.
The main topic discussed by the officials was the current situation regarding the Transnistrian settlement, especially the confidence-building measures between the two banks of the Dniester.
The Head of the OSCE Mission welcomed the successes achieved in fulfilling the “Berlin-plus” package, as well as the joint efforts of the leadership of the Republic of Moldova, aimed at advancing the regulatory process.
The interlocutors were unanimous in the opinion that all participants in the negotiation process must continue to take joint actions to help achieve the agreements reached, aimed at strengthening trust between the two banks of the Dniester.
The parties also addressed the issue of organizing a meeting of the President of the country with the leader of the Tiraspol administration, Vadim Krasnoselski, which could take place at the end of July, beginning of August this year.
At the end of the discussion, Igor Dodon assured Mr. Claus Neukirch of the firm intention of the Moldovan leadership to defend the interests, rights and freedoms of Moldovan citizens on both banks of the Dniester and reiterated his personal interest in activating cooperation with the OSCE.
