Moldovan President Igor Dodon held a working meeting with the US Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Derek Hogan.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues relating to bilateral relations. The Head of State noted the significant support that the United States had provided to our country for 27 years of independence.
The parties examined the internal politics of the Republic of Moldova. Also, the officials agreed on the need to hold parliamentary elections on February 24 in compliance with all international democratic norms and standards. Igor Dodon and Derek Hogan also discussed the prospects for resolving the Transnistrian conflict.
During the meeting, the Head of State and the US ambassador discussed the elements of the presidential strategy of a balanced foreign policy of the Republic of Moldova and mutually beneficial relations with the countries of the West and the East based on the neutral status of the Republic of Moldova.
