Moldovan President Igor Dodon signed a decree appointing Sergei Mishin, PhD in Law, member of the Civil Society Council by the President of the Republic of Moldova, to the position of adviser on interethnic relations.
Earlier, the head of state promised to appoint a special adviser in response to the numerous appeals of the ethno-cultural organizations of Moldova. “One third of the population of Moldova are representatives of ethnic groups other than the Moldovans, and one of the most important tasks of the Head of State is to maintain constant communication of the administration with these organizations and to ensure peace and harmony in society”, Igor Dodon said.
The President also noted that in the entire history of the Republic of Moldova there was no adviser to the Head of State on inter-ethnic relations. “At the same time, since 2017, the Commission on Inter-Ethnic Relations under the leadership of Elena Belyakova, a well-known specialist with extensive experience in this field, has been a part of the Civil Society Council by the President”, Igor Dodon said.
