The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met today with the representatives of the Open Society Foundations responsible for Europe and Central Asia and with the management of the Soros Foundation Moldova. The meeting was held on the occasion of the organization's 30th anniversary of activity in our country.
The discussion focused on the situation of democracy in the Republic of Moldoba, the social and economic challenges we are facing, as well as the European aspirations of our country. The Head of State expressed her appreciation for the contribution made by the Open Society Foundations to the promotion of democratic values, the strengthening of public institutions, civil society and independent media in Moldova, as well as for the development and modernization programs in education and science. Maia Sandu mentioned that she counts on a further support for justice and anti-corruption reforms, as well as the implemention of the education reform.
