The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu paid an official visit to the Republic of Poland on Thursday, 14 July, at the invitation of President Andrzej Duda. In Warsaw, the Head of State held bilateral talks with her Polish counterpart and had meetings with the leadership of the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland.
"I am in Warsaw tonight, at the invitation of President Andrzej Duda, a good friend of our country, to mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Poland," Maia Sandu said.
According to President Maia Sandu, her visit to the Republic of Poland is a good occasion to address with President Andrzej Duda important topics of bilateral cooperation. "The visit gives me the opportunity to discuss with Mr. President joint projects initiated by our countries, bilateral economic cooperation and our countries' efforts to help Ukraine in the context of the war provoked by Russia. I also have the opportunity to thank President Duda for his country's consistent support for Moldova's European path. Poland remains a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova, with which we wish to further develop good cooperation", Maia Sandu said.
President Maia Sandu discussed the advancement of the bilateral dialogue between our countries with Elżbieta Witek, Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, and Tomasz Grodzki, Marshal of the Polish Senate, on Thursday evening.
