The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a meeting in Chisinau with the Prime Minister of Romania, Nicolae Ciucă, with whom she discussed projects on the bilateral agenda and the European integration process of our country.
"We reviewed the progress in the implementation of ongoing projects - the construction of the Bumbăta-Leova bridge, the opening of the Leușeni-Albița coordinated checkpoint, the financing of several community development projects under the "European Village" Programme and we discussed the preparation of works for the initiation - in the near future - of other projects in areas of strategic interest, including the construction of the Bălți-Suceava overhead power line, as well as the reconstruction of 3 other road bridges," the head of state said.
President Maia Sandu expressed her gratitude for all the support Romania is giving us: "I thanked the Prime Minister for the Romanian Government's initiative to the European institutions on the establishment of a sanctions regime against individuals who try to destabilize the situation in our country. We are also grateful for Bucharest's support in organising the European Political Community meeting, which will take place in early June in our country. We have received assurances that Romania will continue to stand with us through thick and thin," the President concluded.
