President Maia Sandu had a meeting with Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a meeting this afternoon with Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament. The head of state thanked for the invitation to speak in front of the Members of the European Parliament. The officials discussed the security situation in Moldova and the region, and our efforts to help refugees from Ukraine.

President Maia Sandu also spoke about our country’s vision for the future and its European aspirations. "I thank President Metsola for promoting the European Parliament's Resolution of 5 May, which recommends to the EU Member States and the European Commission to support the European perspective of our country. Granting candidate status to Moldova will encourage the internal reform efforts, for the benefit of our citizens. The EU will thus obtain a stable and reliable partner in the region ", said Maia Sandu.
