During the meeting, President Timofti spoke out for boosting contacts between the parliaments and thanked for the support provided by the Romanian parliament to projects concerning Moldova.
On this occasion, the head of state thanked for the unconditional and solid support provided by the Romanian government to Moldova’s European integration process and implementing bilateral energy and infrastructure projects.
The delegations held an enlarged meeting, focused on the privileged relation between Moldova and Romania, in terms of possibility to create a common council, due to be made up of presidential advisers.
In Romania, Timofti will meet Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis, Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, President of the Senate Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, as well as other top officils.
The Lithuanian MEP said the European Union would continue backing Moldova, on condition that the results of the pro-European agenda’s implementation were visible on the next period.
